This position requires an experienced, skilled, highly energetic, individual contributor who will be responsible for a multi-faceted role. They will primarily be working to identify performance bottlenecks in the system or database structure and modifying them to improve performance. They would do this by developing an overall perspective of how the system & database architecture is structured and developing various tools/scripts to identifying/analyze problem areas. They would then work to fine tune both the application and the database to improve performance. They will be working at a system architect level but will also need database performance tuning expertise (Oracle).
Activities include: - Performance engineering of back-end components - Strong understanding on Unix, Scripting(shell/perl) - Knowledge of Java, app server, web server - Build different wrapper scripts in order to gauge the performance of database - Database scalability assessment and impact –what services using high transactional tables and their associated stored procedures - Build performance summaries from raw data in tables - End to End infrastructure mapping and analysis, documentation, dependences, extrapolation to Production infrastructure - Nice to have experience with “reflector technology” – iTKO Lisa / Parasoft Virtualize
These engineers will also work closely with & direct our offshore performance team – and act as a interface with client stakeholders
